2021
Queenstown - A Chance Encounter
Two young adventurers brought together by destiny, or a lack of affordable alternatives, crossed paths in the humble lodgings of Absoloot Hostel, where they both sought shelter during the busy snow season of 2021. A broken arm prevented Martin from hitting the slopes, and Claire, who is not overly fond of vertical travel, was happy to keep him company.
The ensuing lockdown brought them closer together, and their relationship soon blossomed over many a shared meal and endless scenic walks.
2022 – 2023
Long Distance
The dreaded hour arrived, and these two young lovers were pulled apart for the first time since their chance encounter. For Claire, a desire to pursue a career in social work drew her away from her new love to the university town of Dunedin. Meanwhile, Martin sought to establish himself as Melbourne's greatest freelance videographer. Each pursued their own interests, but would their budding love stand the test of time?
2024
Reunited in Melbourne
Spurred on by the encouragement of those most dear to her, Claire decided to follow her heart and made the leap across the pond to Melbourne, where she was met by her handsome beau, vigorously lapping the airport pick-up area to avoid over priced parking. Two long years of distance came to an end at last.
2025
A Proposal in the Peaks
Fast forward to December 2025, the pair travelled to Claire's homeland by way of the Dolomites. One evening at dusk, against the strategically chosen backdrop of the Tre Cime peaks, Martin asked Claire for her hand in marriage, making her the happiest woman in the world. Toasts and celebrations ensued in both Ireland and Melbourne, and the pair have spent the months since planning their next great adventure.
2027
Wedding Bells
